Pool & Spa (Hot Tub) Inspections

What is a Pool & Spa Inspection?

Pool and spa inspections involve a detailed examination of the pool's structure, equipment, safety features, and water quality, with inspectors checking for cracks, leaks, proper operation of pumps and filters, functioning electrical components like GFCI and bonding, and compliance with safety barriers and anti-entrapment devices. Approved Inspection Services process utilizes checklists to evaluate the condition of surfaces, water clarity, chemical balance (pH, chlorine), and the overall safety of the surrounding area, including fences and gates.

We Inspect The Following Items:

Pool/Spa Shell: Inspectors look for cracks, leaks, or other deterioration in the pool's interior surfaces, walls, and floor.
Decking: The surrounding concrete, decks, and patio areas are checked for cracks, integrity, and proper slope.
Coping & Tile: The coping (the top edge of the pool) and tiles are inspected for any damage or looseness that could allow water to seep behind the walls.
Pumps and Filters: The pump, filter, and associated gauges are checked for leaks, cracks, proper operation, and secure installation.
Heaters and Blowers: Heating systems and air blowers for spas are examined for proper function and any signs of corrosion.
Piping and Fittings: Inspectors look for leaks, corrosion, calcification, and proper support of all plumbing components.
Drains and Skimmers: Skimmer baskets and main drain grates are checked to ensure they are clear, undamaged, and properly secured to prevent entrapment.
Bonding and Grounding: The system that bonds all metal components is verified to ensure it's properly connected and essential for safety.
GFCI: Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) are checked to ensure they are installed and functioning correctly.
Pool Lights: The proper operation and secure attachment of pool lights are assessed.
Safety Devices: Inspector will confirm the presence and functionality of safety features such as anti-entrapment devices, self-closing/latching gates, and appropriate fencing.
Water Clarity: The water is checked for clarity, and visible algae or debris is noted.
Chemical Testing: Our Inspectors will test the water for proper levels of chlorine, pH, and alkalinity to ensure safe and clear water.
Fencing and Gates: The fence is inspected for adequate height, proper gaps, and that self-closing and latching gates are installed and functional.
Entrapment Prevention: Measures to prevent entrapment, such as proper drain covers and an adequate water level for continuous overflow, are assessed.
